last hurrah

the nights have been cooler. we're no longer using the fan and a light blanket feels good.

what i'm really enjoying, though, is the sudden brilliance of certain plants. so many are sad and simply need to be cleared away. but the honey suckle has put on new, intensely colorful blooms. butterflies hover in the vines all day.

Who knew honeysuckle is a fall plant? It seems like it should be the most summery of summer plants...

glad you can come this weekend. I wonder if we would have time to squeeze in a pedi or pierre's bistro.

valerie- it normaly is - summery. which is probably why this new set of blooms is so striking. this is an old vine which produces pink, white and fuschia blossoms! i did a major pruning on part of it last fall so this end has been much healthier this summer. i plan to tackle the other end one of these days.
n2 - you know the time frame - see what you can do.

Oh, it definitely is "extra blanket" season! It always seems (at least in Wisconsin) that blooms are the most vivid right before autumn...or maybe that's just me trying to soak them all in before they fade away!

By the way...I DO have the ramen noodle cookbook! I plan to have it memorized by the time I finally finish college :)

Happiest of Tuesdays to you!
