Because this never happens...

You'll have to excuse a certain giddiness in today's post - because this never happens to me.  It may be a familiar experience for others - but not me!

So go ahead, smile indulgently, shake your head, you'll not deter my enthusiasm.

We are finally experiencing some cooler weather so I decided to wear some clothes today for running errands.  I recently told Valerie that camel/tan and gray is one of my favorite combinations. I also recently scored a never-been-worn-still-had-the-tags-on-it charcoal blazer from Eddie Bauer at the goodwill.  I pulled it out of my closet, paired it with a black tee, tan pants and a scarf.

Now, I'll admit that I sometimes receive compliments on things I wear - but today the bank teller said she loved the way I had my scarf tied - how did you do that!?  So I took it apart and showed her.  It took 2 demos but she got it and she was happy.  I  was, too.  It's all recorded on the CCTV at the bank....

today

today's entry was meant simply to bring jacob's surgery to the attention of my faithful readers. he's scheduled to have his shoulder repaired today - let's hope everything goes well.

and because on other occasions readers have expressed a preference for photos i have included yet another first for your perusal. we leave for parts north tomorrow morning to help aidan celebrate his 5th birthday. an assortment of flotsam goes with us including these:

my first ever 'blown-out'(technically they weren't blown-out but what else do you call them?), decorated eggs. i'm pretty sure this is a first. if not i'm pretty sure someone may correct my misrecollection. enjoy your weekend.

20 March, 2009

spring has arrived

although you'd never know it looking out the window. it's a gloomy day inside and out. but here are a few more 'firsts' to mark the occasion:
my first paint job of the season. i look forward to spray-paint season all winter long.

first tulips poking through the debris of winter.

the first sign of daffodils.
hope you're all enjoying sunny skies.

no introduction needed.....

my first grandson.

aidan can cover several
'firsts' by himself. the first grandchild - on either side- first grandson, first in our family to attend a chinese immersion school, and

the first serious competition tiger will face.

i had plans for a photo shoot with my tulips this morning for tomorrow's first day of spring entry - but it's raining! i have tulip shoots up about 4 inches and daffodils just starting to break ground while others in town have gleefully reported daffodils in full bloom. we'll just have to see what tomorrow brings.
