Makes my mouth water... There is no sweet corn to be found in Mexico. An anthropologist I heard speak recently finally explained why. Mexican corn feeds both animals and people and is used as seed corn. Thus it needs to be what is known as a "hard" corn that can be stored. Sweet corn cannot be stored and has only one purpose and is therefore not worth the use of land.
Thanks for visiting my little corner of cyberspace. My name is Ilona. Home is currently a small, central Nebraska town shared with my husband, Tim, and golden retriever, Charlie. I work part-time at our local library - a job I truly enjoy. While the art of homemaking is my first love and you would normally find me dabbling in a variety of crafts, projects and gardens, this year "college student" has been added to my list of daily routines, claiming a disproportionate amount of my time. There are surprises, though, everyday.....
